Brother DCP-8045D Digital Copier, Scanner & Printer Review

I’ve had HPs for years. Decided to try this after seeing some reviews. Performace is excellent. Networking easy to set up. I like the Paperport software. Can do quick scan and OCR from any of 6 workstations for up to limit of document feeder tray. Cost of purcahse and operation low. Also like separate drum & cartridge combo.

I have had this printer for only two weeks, but so far it has performed admirably. Although it does have some limitations, one expects these with such an inexpensive network all-in-one printer. Only a few things have bothered me about this printer, and one of them is software based.

I’ve had this printer for about 10 months & use it all the time. I’m an independent notary signing agent & print mortgage documents with it several times per week. I’ve had an occasional paper jam, but easily cleared. As for crinkling of envelopes on manual feed, just set the guides a little farther out, so the envelope has room to flow through & no crinkles…I learned that from my office’s HP 4 — same issue there. Easy to correct. Haven’t had to replace a drum yet, though I’ve gone through at least 3 toner cartridges already. Memory is adequate even for 100-pg pdf files.
