Digital Imaging - The Death of Film?
If the pattern of adoption for digital imaging currently happening in the United States is found in the UK, it might be the death knell for traditional film-sound. Between May 2006 and May 2007, the volume of digital photos prints produced in the U.S. grew by a staggering 34%, with online photo services seeing an 80% increase in the popularity owned by the Photo Marketing Association International.
Technical innovation has been credited with the shift from film to digital, especially theGrowth of high-speed Web access, which makes uploading images so much faster. With more than half of all Web users in the UK now on broadband upload is as fast and easy as in the U.S. and use is expected that in line with the American acceptance increase.
However, digital imaging prints are only half the truth, with sales of traditional film cameras completing the picture. During the same period as the rise in digital imaging print production, sales of traditional film camerasDeclined 49%, while digital camera sales by 5% over the same period, with almost nine out of ten digital cameras with resolutions of more than 6 million megapixels. Affordable 10 million megapixel cameras are now retailing at less than half the price they two years ago, combined with the fact that shutter speeds and specifications are improved, digital cameras, this made a real alternative to film. Plus, the cost savings of using digital imagery can not be underestimated.Instead of more expensive film reels waste that hard to get a shot, with digital cameras, an image is not good enough can be easily removed after the review on the screen.
Another attraction of the switch from film to digital is that the storage of digital images is always much easier. Many new computers come with much larger storage capacity on hard drives, or if not large enough, then storage devices like USB sticks or USB hard drives can be connected in fittedAccount of the increased storage of valuable paintings. In addition, many sites offer online vaults means that would have pictures taken, have a valuable hard drive space can now be stored online and accessed via the Web.
Of course there's always the old-fashioned, home photo developing is very easy at home now, with pressure equipment available for most cameras, while there are many instant photo booths in shops, supermarkets andChemist.
With the user friendly interface for uploading and storing images and tumbling prices for high quality digital cameras it is easy to see why the digital photography takes America by storm. It's just a matter of time before it happens here in the UK.

| Review by dodie7ski (USA) 2010-07-12 I have a lot of Canon products and I'm glad everyone. Canon rep advised me the problem and a solution, so I used it for another year before... Read more reviews | ||

| Review by EAB (Bay Area, CA) 2010-07-26 All features are great, but I bought the printer with the assumption that I would be able to easily print a document of 100 pages. What is the tray for paper and print speed when printed pages from the printer to shoot in the air? Is there a way to assemble them in an orderly manner? I miss Somet...
