On the website of Canon, the only difference that I could in the MX860 and MX870 was found compared ([...]) that the MX860 does not show Win7 compatibility (although it may be) and say that the 870 works with Win7 . I use this fax machine for my company, and it is great. Remember to try to add ink when you buy the ink give you dosent last long. It 'been a little' complicated to configure, and the ink has been difficult to get in (almost sucked the directions explaining how to do that), but once you do once you're a professional in it.

A serious design flaw that you need to know about the MFC-9840CDW is not printed in black and white when a color cartridge runs out of toner. Customer Service told me that is printed in black and white or turn it off if you open the door - after that you will have to buy new color cartridges before you can print again.

The printer is very fast for employment in motion, very pleased with my purchase. Work without major problems.

I have had many of the C80 series, and all were great. Do not last too long, but worth it for the money. I replaced an Epson R320, which I hated. This is the development of much better.

Clear copies, faxes fast. Have not used the scanner yet.
We have seen the HP to take office and the price was $ 25 more.

I tried. My son tried techno-saavy. My husband has tried. None of us has ever been able to get this printer to work with my Nikon D40, but says it supports.
